Capa död

I väntan på en längre text om Robert Capas negativ (mycket politik där) kan meddelas att hans bror Cornell (grundare av ICP, New York) avlidit. Inte så mycket att diskutera, mer en nyhet. Men ändå.

The entire International Center of Photography community mourns the death of Cornell Capa, who passed away early this morning, Friday, May 23rd. As a renowned photographer, as the founder of the International Fund for Concerned Photography, and the founder of ICP in 1974, Cornell was a singular force in the world of photography, opening our eyes to the power of the photographic image as an agent of change. ICP and photographers everywhere are his lasting legacy.

Burial will be Wednesday, May 28th at 2 p.m. at the Friends Cemetery in Amawalk, New York. [See below for details.]

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 10th at 10 a.m. at The Times Center at 242 West 41st Street between 7th & 8th Avenues.

Contributions in Cornell’s memory may be made to the “Cornell Capa Legacy Project” at ICP.
